I have to say I was rather disappointed; I really love this story, so I didn’t think they could mess it up. Some good cast, some bad. Keira Knightley gives a rocky performance at best, as I found her take on Lizzie a bit high and mighty and unlikeable at times. Mr. Bingley comes across as rather silly. Matthew Macfadyen on the other hand turns in a very good performance as Mr.Darcy.
Granted it's a lot to cram in to two hours, and it all feels rather rushed. There is some beautiful imagery, but on the other hand there were directorial and artistic choices that I did not understand. It’s still a sweet story and there are of course good parts, but as mentioned it all feels rushed.
I’ll stick to the BBC mini-series.
