Transformers

It’s not deep or anything, but it’s a fun popcorn movie and you couldn’t really expect anything else. Yeah, the dialogue is wooden at times, some of the characters are just there, and some of the plot is weak. But it’s fun, and there are pretty cars, and action dosed with a little humour. Switch of your brain and enjoy the ride.

Dark Angel

You can pull it apart pretty fast, but it’s fun! It’s not meant to be anything other than entertainment. I still don’t understand why it was cancelled, but that freed up some of the actors to do bigger and better things, so we really shouldn’t complain too much.

Mini action movies each week is a good thing!

Dreamgirls

The story is a little weak, but then again it is a musical and in my experience you can’t really expect too much from the narrative of a musical. I do get what all the fuss was about though, the music was beautiful and Jennifer Hudson deserved that Oscar. If you’re in for a good musical this is a nice choice.

Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead

I haven’t seen this since I was a kid, and was feeling nostalgic, and this seemed like a perfect choice. The setup is pretty simple, but it’s a fun film, and a lot of familiar faces from the early 90s. Nice movie for when you miss the simpler times of movies.

Wedding Wars

Cute movie with a good message. It does however suffer under the TV-production though. The plot and build-up is pretty simple, so is the solution, but it’s a cute little movie, and if you have a thing for TV-doctors you’ll find three of them here.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, finale

Why this show was cancelled, I will never understand.
However, it was given a rare gift; they were allowed to bring closure to the story. And while watching the finale I really didn’t know that and I honestly thought it was going to end with one hell of a cliffhanger, but they were able to bring closure to the storylines in a very nice way. I loved the show, and I loved how it ended, I just wish there would be more. It’s a show that’s well worth checking out, and you can watch it knowing that you will get the majority of the answers by the time it ends.

DOA: Dead or Alive

Cracktastic and weak, but still fun. The script and storyline left a lot to be desired, but it was still a fun ride. This movie is not to be taken seriously, you just switch off your brain and enjoy the fact that women are beating the crap out of the henchmen for a change.

Die Hard 4.0

This was just the kind of action movie I’d been wanting. I had not expected to like this one. I thought the trailer made it look rather silly, but when I saw more and more positive reviews I got curious.

Yes, the action is at times over the top, and a few fighting scenes were a bit long, but all in all it works. I had no idea what to expect from Justin Long, but he filled the sidekick shoes very nicely.

Am very glad I went, in short a good old action flick that manages to keep up, awesome!

Heroes, season 1

I know there are some of my views on the show that’ll be unpopular, at least judging by some of the things I’ve read about some of the characters in other reviews, but we’ll see. Feel free to enlighten me.

The show does more very slowly throughout the season, the opening stories are interesting, which is to be expected from a show with this many characters. What bothered me though is that after everyone’s introduced the show still moves slowly, still trying to get us to know the characters as the story slowly evolves, and the truth is not all the stories are all that interesting, which is a pity with regards to the fact that I really liked some of the characters that seemed stuck in the slower stories.

I’ve gathered that I’m one of the very few who actually liked the cop character; Matt Parkman. Out of all the characters, he’s maybe the one who feels the most real to me. I adore Hiro though, he’s the embodiment of geekyness, and just wonderful.

Other than that I like the Petrelli brothers, but that is probably based more on the actors than the actual characters. Peter is a bit too depressing at times, but I like how one can never be sure about Nathan’s motives.

I also like Claire, she's a good character, will be interesting to see where they take her story.

I did however not care much for Niki, I thought her storyline was pretty boring, and none of the developments in the story made me care any more for her or her familiy… maybe Micah, but that’s it.

Now… Sylar… what can I say, I was really disappointed. After all the stuff I’d read on my flist I had expected a kick-ass villain, and what I get is a whiny momma’s boy. I’m sorry, the character doesn’t do anything for me.

I will probably continue watching this show, but I’m not as hyped about it as most people seem to be. I enjoy the powers and everything, but it is kind of a soap opera disguised as a super-hero show. Which can be cool, I just think they need to pick up the pace a little bit.
