What's in store for Warehouse 13?

If you're one of the people hoping that Joanne Kelly's departure from the show is permanent the teaser for the first episode of season 3 bodes well. Peter is paired together with a new partner Steve Jinks, portrayed by Aaron Ashmore (Smallville, Fringe), as “a young ATF agent who can detect when someone’s lying”.

It also looks like H.G. Wells will be getting her own spin-off series. The character, who made her entrance in season 2, has proved popular and SyFy are planning a show around her early days.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jack Kenny is prepping the series for Syfy based on the following concept:

While it is still in the early stages and thus subject to change, the idea is to put Wells in a 1890s steampunk environment. Despite Warehouse 12's efforts to recruit her, she would remain a free agent who uses her knowledge of contemporary science to solve murders and other mysteries.

In this incarnation, she would enlist the help of a mechanical engineer and utilize her relationship with the police commissioner to solve what appear to be unsolvable cases. Both the skills and style she employs will become the framework for the well-known stories of H.G. Wells, as written by her brother.

TV Review: Warehouse 13

Warehouse 13 comes to us from the SyFy channel, which should give you an idea of the quality of the show. The premise is interesting, two Secret Service agents are reasigned to an old Warehouse in the middle of South Dakota where they learn that the supernatural is real, and it's their new job to hunt down and retrieve cursed artifacts so it can be stored safely at Warehouse 13.
In the role of the agents we find Eddie McClintock as Pete Lattimer and Joanne Kelly as Myka Bering. Their boss, Artie Nielsen, is played by Saul Rubinek. It is an amusing little show, but it's dragged down by the low budget, which is obvious in grander scale CGI shots. Joanne Kelly is also a weak spot in the show, while she gives one of her stronger performances in this show, she's still not very convincing. A few episodes in the show gets another regular, Allison Scagliotti as Claudia Donovan, she is one of the stronger members of the cast, and one of the main reasons I made it to season two.
In season 2 we're introduced to a female H.G. Wells portrayed by Jaime Murray, she walks a fine line between good and bad, and you're never really sure what she's up to. The series is also littered with fun guest stars like Mark Sheppard, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher and several other familiar faces.
It is a fun little show, worth a look if you're getting tired of the conventional cop shows that keep popping up everywhere.
